Yeah I did take my time, who ever designed that is a moron! previous cars Ive worked on (dsm's) had two 19mm nuts and the damn thing came right off!

I've got a garage full of tools, thats not the problem, turbo in the back is the problem!

Plenty of liquid wrench goes a long way....spray the 5 bolts with liquid wrench and let them sit over night...the bottom bolt can be accessed through the pa ssenger side wheel well with a few extensions and a knuckle
heatshield bolts, once again liquid wrench let them sit over night...
Hope this helps...

I did take my time, spent 3 hours out their. Went very slow the top 3 came right out. The bolts on the heatshield were easy also, fishing that bitch out of that hole was a bitch!

This might be moved to the complaint thread....

Everyone says that heat shield was hard. To me it wasn't that bad. Maybe cuz of my size/strength?!?! Sprayed it and pet sit overnight. They came off pretty easy the next day..also used quality tools that didn't slip off the bolts

No matter how you do it, it sucks. It takes a lot to get me wound up, but that heat shield pissed me off. No matter what you do, it will not come out of there easily. I didn't really have a problem with the dp bolts though. Don't know why.
