Stock muffler cut off

So I cut my stock muffler off today and it is running straight pipe from the turbo back (There is no emissions in Idaho were I live). I was wondering if it is good for the car if I have it set up like that or do I need a muffler for the back pressure?

So I could just leave it be and be fine with the way it is?

It's pretty loud but it sounds good and you can hear the turbo whining up and what not

Re: Stock muffler cut off

I'm running no muffler as well, with my catless downpipe on the way. I love it personally gives a nice growl for pretty much nothing. Not much power gain really but it seemed that my turbo spooled a wee bit faster. But ya as said boosted cars don't need all the exhaust back pressure because all the back pressure needed is supplied by the turbo itself.

No emissions in Indiana either.

Re: Stock muffler cut off

Dont have one right now and would go take one but my PCM is in Ohio with real tuned. Gives you a little cackle on deceleration like the old Nsrt had. I know there's a view vids of stock exhaust w/o muffler on youtube
