Lightbulb How To: Windshield washer/sprayer on CBD (CF) hood

So I've had the CF hood on for about a month but was trying to figure out what to do about the washer nozzles. I wasn't crazy about drilling through the middle of the gorgeous CF to put the stock hood pimples on. I remembered that cars in the '60's and 70's had these little spray rods that were in the cowl.

I did a lot of pic surfing to find what looked like it would work and ordered up these. They're black, about the right length, with the brackets and hose bib(?) with the right orientation. I had to hammer the side tab flat, but that took all of 10 seconds.

I pre-drilled small holes and used the stainless screws to snug down the brackets for test firing. They cleared the hood and cowl and shot over the roof, so they work fine with a little adjustment (increase the bend a little). Which is what's nice about these, they allow for adjustment. So I glued them up to the underside of the hood and screwed them down to hold them while the waterproof glue sets.

Because of the placement of them, the hose doesn't have to reach as far and so I trimmed about 5" off (in the pic next to the screw bag).

I will reroute the hose to a little lower on the hinge from the stock location (orange arrow)

I'll do this so that when the hood is closed the hose will route over the cowl (red line) and won't be pinched by the seal at the front of the cowl (yellow arrow). They hook up just fine and don't leak. I also drilled a hole large enough to use the stock hose retaining clip in the center of the hood (yellow circle). It's a total stealth install.

re: How To: Windshield washer/sprayer on CBD (CF) hood

Those look like the ones they used in chevy's .I use to have a 77' and would turn my passenger nozzle to the side and aim the driver side super high. Nice job with that, good right up. Did you look into the ones used in the 03' Suburbans?? Looks like they attach to the wiper arm'
