Okay so just bought a 2008 Caliber SRT-4 last friday sunday it threw a warnign light for a throttle body sensor and it starts ideling wierd juping from 1000 rpm to 1500 rpm so we took it to the dealership they "fixed" it, 4 hours later the car wont get above 2500 rmp even with it floored, teh clutch wouldnt engage or disengage, and it started putting off a horrible smell, kinda smelled like burnt oil or diesel to me. Next moring the car started right up when we had it towed to the dealership, it ideled wierd like the first problem but that was it. The dealership has had it since friday and they dont know what is wrong with it. Has anyone had these problems with their srt or know anything. I've already called the chrysler group and they are looking into it but nothing yet.
Wow. I had a throttle body replacement at around 60,000 miles. I just needed a new throttle body and everything was back to normal. But when I had the issue I did not have the idle issue. The car just shut off by itself while I was driving.....yeah a bit worse for me, but it got replaced and all has been good since. Might need to get mouser or another one to answer this more specifically.
Yeah my husband said the check engine light came on this time as well as the warnign light for the throttle body sensor and i dont rememebr ehat the other one was. I would have checked the codes me self but someone at the body shop that our old car was towed to stole parts from my obd2 code reader
